Vitus Pro Cycling Team, powered by Brother UK continues partnership with Wahoo

Vitus Pro Cycling Team, powered by Brother UK will use Wahoo KICKR direct drive trainers and ELEMNT BOLT computers throughout the 2019 season.

In a clear sign of the team’s satisfaction with Wahoo’s leading-edge trainers and GPS computers, Cherie Pridham’s squad will continue a relationship begun last year, managed from Wahoo UK’s London office.

Pridham said she was delighted to work with Wahoo UK for a second consecutive season. Members of Wahoo UK staff recently rode out with the team over several days at their training camp in Calpe, providing further evidence of a hands-on approach from both parties.

“I’m delighted that the relationship between Vitus Pro Cycling Team, powered by Brother UK and Wahoo will continue into a second year,” Pridham said.

“Wahoo’s products speak for themselves – the Wahoo KICKR direct drive trainer and Wahoo ELEMNT BOLT GPS computer are widely recognised as market leaders – and additionally the support we receive from guys in their UK office in London is exemplary.”

Wahoo was founded ten years ago in Atlanta, Georgia, where it retains a global headquarters. A company with a mission to produce “simply powerful” fitness technology, enabled by class-leading Bluetooth 4.0 sensors, it has enjoyed a decade of exponential growth.

Partnerships with Apple and Zwift, as well as with a host of other online training platforms and the UCI WorldTour squads Team Sky, Bora-Hansgrohe and Team Katusha Alpecin, have made Wahoo one of the most recognised names in cycling.

The KICKR trainer was the first to combine direct drive transmission with a ’smart’ technology that allows its resistance settings to be controlled by software. The ELEMNT BOLT computer, the most advanced in Wahoo’s range, has led the company’s growth in a sector previously dominated by a single provider.

Rowley Clifford, Wahoo UK’s marketing manager, said the company’s continued partnership with Vitus Pro Cycling Team, powered by Brother UK would demonstrate its support for the domestic racing scene, as well as providing a mechanism to gather direct feedback from the riders.

“Wahoo UK is part of a global brand, but we’re under the skin of the UK racing scene and proud to be associated with Vitus Pro Cycling Team, powered by Brother UK. After riding out with the team in Calpe for three days in March, we’ve learned how hard Cherie and her riders must work to enjoy success as a UCI Continental team,” Clifford said.

“By supporting them with Wahoo ELEMNT BOLT GPS computers, we’ll help the guys maximise the value of their time on the road. And when the British weather makes riding outdoors a trial, Wahoo KICKR direct drive trainers will allow them to train indoors with the same sensations.”

Wahoo UK staff will support Vitus Pro Cycling Team, powered by Brother UK on the ground at key events this season, including the Tour de Yorkshire, the Tour Series and the Rutland-Melton CiCLE Classic. Clifford and Stephen Shawmarsh-Smith, Wahoo UK’s customer service manager, both race for the London-based amateur team Romance.CC and rode out each day with the team at their recent training camp in Calpe.
